Discovered...

I discovered this band, "duman" at the culture festival last week and since then, I have had this tune in my head. I actually had to go through all their videos on youtube to find the song I was looking for since I had no idea of the name of the song or what it was about or anything. But I finally found it. They make good music. I ended up watching lots of their videos, the live shows were particularly good.

and this one is also good....

Not familiar with Duman, but really like the songs you posted. They are a magnetic mix of traditional and contemporary and I especially like the chorus harmonies - the baritone is unusual an really gives the melody heft.

You describe exactly what I would have liked to say had I been able to find the words...that's it!

As you know, I love lyrics and my brain can get stuck but in this case, there was just something about the harmonies. Imagine, it was a rainy day, the band I had gone to see before them, "afrocubism", was the big atttaction. And Duman played like an hour after them. So most of the crowd had gone cos it really began to rain heavily and just their hard core fans (and they were many! cos remember this concert was for free so imagine if one lived in a nearby european country, travelling for a concert will not be a bad idea if you are a fan)were left. Anyway, when they got on stage, there was just something magical about them. I just got rooted on the spot. Like you have heard it before, but not really. Like it was the kind of chorus you had hummed sometime, somewhere but you know you haven't cos its in Turkish. A kind of Deja vu that can't possibly be.
