Nigeria is not really "ONE" is it? what a fucking joke!

RIGHT NOW, VILLAGES IN DELTA STATE ARE BEING BURNT TO THE GROUND. INNOCENT PEOPLE ARE BEING KILLED AND MAIMED. WE NOW OFFICIALLY HAVE REFUGEES IN WARRI. REFUGEES! WARRI IS ALREADY A LAWLESS LAND. WHAT DO YOU THINK IS GOING TO HAPPEN WHEN MORE ANGRY PEOPLE GET IN? PURE ANARCHY.

WHAT IS THE NIGERIAN PRESS DOING? NOBODY KNOWS WHAT IS HAPPENING. IS DELTA STATE NOT A PART OF NIGERIA? WHY IS NOBODY COVERING THIS FUCKING OFFENSIVE THAT THE NIGERIAN GOVERNMENT HAS EMBARKED ON? WHY DOESN'T ANYBODY KNOW WHAT IS HAPPENING? WHY DOESN'T ANYBODY KNOW ANYTHING?

WHY ARE PEOPLE NOT TALKING ABOUT THIS?

WHY DOES NOBODY CARE?

I DON'T GET IT. WHY ARE PEOPLE IN OTHER PARTS OF NIGERIA NOT CONCERNED? I DON'T GET IT...

@adeleke: warri is the nearest port city for the local govt areas affected and so, it is only natural that they take refuge there.

And you know what that means...

Actually the Nigerian Government and the Nigerian Military are PHYSICALLY PREVENTING anyone with so much as a biro and paper or a camera from entering the Niger Delta so that we cannot record the atrocities they are committing. It's not that the press does not want to report it's that they CAN'T.

This is CLEARLY a gross human rights violation, but I am not sure right now what to do.

This was the major topic at my graduation party today. After one of my father's friends said that Middle Belters will lose the goodwill the rest of the nation and the international community as for them. As the rebels are now projecting them as predators instead of victims of injustice. The part erupted after the statement and slowly progressed to talks of Nigeria disintegrating.

The problem has always been lack of funds. The major Nigerian newspapers, news organizations, beaureaus are all in Lagos. They never follow anything outside Lagos because they can't afford it. Anything they report is what the government feeds them. The Nigerian arm of the BBC tends to cover news around the country better than them. I won't be surprised to see the BBC put up footage and then they will report from their images.

This is the first time I am hearing of this incident. It is really very sad that the press are not saying anything about it. But I still don't understand why villages are being targeted. Is the government trying to say that all villagers are militants?
