I am currently reading this book and I am totally immersed in it. I don't know when last I enjoyed reading a non-fiction book so much. I haven't put it down since I started it and have been writing down quotes after quotes...I actually slept on the train on the way home with a smile on my lips. thanks for the ref. Another great book along the same lines (I imagine given the publisher of the book you are reading) is Mathieu Ricard's book Happiness.
Anything along the lines of 'spiritual materialism' is interesting to me. Spirit without matter is abstract; matter without spirit is meaningless. The question is: can desire itself be spiritual?
The title of the post is enough to make one want to read the book...

Desire....hmmmmmmmm can desire just "be?" as in, can desire just manifest itself without a motive behind it? a motive that would most likely be motivated by ego?and when we have desires do we not work towards fulfilling ourselves? hmmmmmm I know I have not answered your question but thats what I am thinking...I'll think some more...

I think my cousin is reading the same book because during a conversation on Nigeria, politics and empowerment she started preaching some similar stuff. made sense to me, sha.
